Gay-friendly Counselling and Psychotherapy is about providing you with a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential environment in which you can explore any emotional, psychological difficulties you may be encountering. I am a gay counsellor and psychotherapist myself and I have extensive experience working with the LGBT community.
My style of working is being side by side with individuals at a pace that suits them. My professional approach is compassionate, warm and down to earth and my aim is to recognise the experience of each individual and to treat them with respect and integrity without making assumptions based on age, race, sexual orientation, physical ability, gender, class, or spiritual belief.
Qualifications and Experience: BSc (Honours) & PGDip
I hold a BSc (Honours) in Integrative Counselling – Psychotherapy awarded by Roehampton University, a program which is approved by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I have also completed a Postgraduate Diploma PGDip in Attachment Studies, which remains one of my main areas of interest. This means that, as part of the therapeutic journey, I aim to help people gaining a deeper understanding of their own personal attachment style.
I have a wide experience helping people from all different backgrounds including from sexual and ethnic minority groups. I have gained most of my experience working in private practice and other multicultural organisations, including the NHS. Some of the places I have offered my services as a Counsellor / Psychotherapist for the LGBT community includes:
56 Dean Street: The UK’s most popular NHS sexual health, contraception and HIV care clinic in the heart of Soho)
Naz Project London: The longest established and largest BME charity in London looking after the sexual health and HIV/AIDS needs of its communities.
My style of working is being sided by side with individuals at a pace that suits them and my professional approach is compassionate, warm and down to earth.
As with most responsible therapists, I have personal experience of long-term therapy.
Recognised by health insurers
I am a gay counsellor who is also registered and approved by Aviva, Pruhealth and WPA health insurers. This means you may be eligible for a therapy at no cost to you if you have an insurance with any of these three organisations.
Where I work
I run a psychotherapy practice in London Kennington, and I also see clients in my London Waterloo psychotherapy and counselling room. Both locations are just 5 minutes from Central London by London Underground (Northern, Jubilee or Bakerloo Lines).
