Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19)
Following the advice of the regulating bodies BACP, UKCP and the British Psychological Society I currently do not offer face to face counselling in my London practice. I anticipate to reopen my consulting room gradually from 1st of September with all required safety measures in place.
If you find yourself in crisis, having suicidal thoughts or needing other immediate support, Befriender’s International will be able to offer you resources for these types of situations worldwide. befrienders.org/suicidal-feelings
My name is Ernesto L Brea and I am an experienced therapist / counsellor / psychotherapist with over nine years of experience working in Private Practice and I specialise only in working with adults.
Therapy is a chance to explore issues you can’t talk to anyone else about, no matter how close they may be. My approach is warm and down to earth and I aim to offer a respectful, caring, insightful and confidential service.
It is natural to be anxious if you have not seen a Counsellor – Psychotherapist before, and the initial session is often a chance for us both to assess your understanding and expectations of psychotherapy with no obligation.
Some of the difficulties I am often presented with are:
- Lacking in confidence, low self-esteem or having feelings of underachievement
- Relationship difficulties
- Childhood trauma
- Difficulties making big life changes
- Family and work-related issues
- Difficulties relating to sexuality
- LGBT Issues
- Anger management
- Childhood difficulties that were left unresolved or unresolved issues from a more recent past
Qualifications and Experience: BSc (Honours) & PGDip
Whilst I have a wide experience helping people from all different backgrounds including from sexual and ethnic minority groups, my experience comes mainly from working in private practice and offering my services in different organisations, including the NHS.
I hold a BSc (Honours) in Integrative Counselling – Psychotherapy awarded by Roehampton University, a program which is approved by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I have also completed a Postgraduate Diploma PGDip in Attachment Studies, which remains one of my main areas of interest. This means that, as part of the therapeutic journey, I aim to help people gaining a deeper understanding of their own personal attachment style.
My style of working is being sided by side with individuals at a pace that suits them and my professional approach is compassionate, warm and down to earth.
I have also worked as a Counsellor / Psychotherapist at London’s most popular sexual health, contraception and HIV care clinic in the heart of Soho. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish. Estas buscando un Psicoterapeuta Español en Londres?
As with most responsible therapists, I have personal experience of long-term therapy.
